Brave Hearted Stepper deeply rooted in Christ: PRUNE

Image
Hello Brave Hearted Stepper, Last week, we discussed GROW (soil, water, sunlight) for the seeds to grow in a solid foundation and thrive. I also shared that spiritual weeds (Galatians 5:19-21) are not wanted or needed as they affect our spiritual growth, bringing distance between God and us. To eliminate the spiritual weeds that have taken root, we need to identify what is a spiritual weed (Galatians 5:19-21)  and what is a spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22-25) . Those who belong to Jesus Christ have submitted their flesh of its passions and desires and live by the Spirit, which keeps us in Brave Hearted steps with the Spirit. If we are investing our time and energy in things that are not growing the fruit of the Spirit, then we need to look closely to be sure it is not a spiritual weed. If it is a spiritual weed, then we need to be willing to reach down into the soil and uproot it before it grows and starts choking out the spiritual fruits we are working so hard for them to...

Brave Hearted Stepper deeply rooted in Christ: GROW

Image
Hello Brave Hearted Stepper, Last week we discussed PLANT (seeds and soil quality of our hearts) through the Parable of the Sower. I pray that you took the time to reflect on the condition of your heart. I say this because the next steps, such as GROW, will need good soil and a solid foundation for you to grow and thrive. A gardener, when planting seeds, would need the following, soil, water, and sunlight. As Brave Hearted Steppers, we need the same to grow deeply rooted in Christ. Soil: As the seeds develop into plants, they need a good foundation of soil to start their growth. The same for Brave Hearted Steppers; our good soil and solid foundation is Jesus. Jesus nurtures and supports us. He gives us a place to extend our roots in safety.  John 15:4 Just like a plant needs fertile soil to thrive, Jesus gives his children every possible nutrient we would ever need. Joy, Love, Peace, Encouragement, Wisdom, etc., and His supplies are unlimited. Sunlight: Plants grow towards t...

Brave Hearted Stepper deeply rooted in Christ: PLANT

Image
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,  Today, we begin a series called Brave Hearted Steppers are deeply rooted in Christ." Psalm 1:3 says that a person "rooted" in their faith shall be "like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever they do will prosper." for the seed of the gospel to grow and prosper in a Brave Hearted Stepper, it first has to be planted in good soil. To begin our series, we will be talking about the seed's planting and the soil's quality.  In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus says: Matthew 13:3-9 "3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying, “Consider the sower who went out to sow. 4 As he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Other seed fell on rocky ground where it didn’t have much soil, and it grew up quickly since the soil wasn’t deep. 6 But when the sun came up, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered awa...

Stay the course

Image
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,  I looked up the meaning of Stay the Course, which caught my attention; it means to continue with a process, effort, etc. We are in the third month of the year (March). Have you started something at the beginning of the year filled with motivation, focus, and enthusiasm and had a moment of lack of motivation, lack of focus, and lack of enthusiasm? I had a moment like this, but I took the Brave Hearted Stepper approach and didn't stay in that moment for very long. A Brave Hearted Stepper approach is walking by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Our spiritual walk consists of walking forward. There is no benefit to walking backward. It will only take me toward my past. Who really wants to go back to the past, I know I don't. Walking forward in a Brave Hearted manner has many benefits. You can focus your eyes on what lies ahead. You can see (with caution) the stumbling blocks (lack of motivation, lack of focus, lack of enthusiasm) and use the...

Living fully dressed in the Armor of God.

Image
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers, What does it mean to be a Brave Hearted Stepper living fully dressed in the Armor of God?  A Brave Hearted Stepper is someone who is supernaturally infused (or soaked) with strength through their relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The kind of strength that allows you to stand victorious, living fully dressed in the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) as you fight against the evil schemes (or tricks) that the enemy may throw at you. When you are fully dressed in the Armor of God: Be Alert (Vigiliant) as the enemy is like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Be Protected (Covered and Put Together) by wearing the complete set of armor God has provided you so that you will be protected as you fight against the evil strategies of the enemy (Ephesians 6:11). Be Dressed (Armor of God): Belt of Truth (Ephesians 6:14) represents our personal commitment to the truth, to living a life that is honest, authenticity (t...
