Stay the course
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,
I looked up the meaning of Stay the Course, which caught my attention; it means to continue with a process, effort, etc.
We are in the third month of the year (March). Have you started something at the beginning of the year filled with motivation, focus, and enthusiasm and had a moment of lack of motivation, lack of focus, and lack of enthusiasm? I had a moment like this, but I took the Brave Hearted Stepper approach and didn't stay in that moment for very long.
A Brave Hearted Stepper approach is walking by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Our spiritual walk consists of walking forward. There is no benefit to walking backward. It will only take me toward my past. Who really wants to go back to the past, I know I don't. Walking forward in a Brave Hearted manner has many benefits. You can focus your eyes on what lies ahead. You can see (with caution) the stumbling blocks (lack of motivation, lack of focus, lack of enthusiasm) and use the detour road(s) Jesus provides (He will always provide us a way out of a situation).
Since I have been talking about walking, Peter comes to mind during the moment when Jesus walks on water toward the boat and Peter asks to walk on water toward Him. He used his mustard seed faith to walk on water. However, when he looked down to see with doubt in his eyes, his walk turned into sinking in the water. That is why the Bible verse “For we are to walk by faith and not by sight” really came to mind to stay the course.
Staying the course means walking with mustard seed faith, trusting in God's promises for our lives, and even if we don't see the promises yet, keep walking! All Peter had to do was keep walking forward by faith and focus in his eyes on Jesus.
Being in that moment and using the approach is a process. Always remember Jesus did not leave us alone to fend for ourselves; He left the Holy Spirit to guide us through the process.
Lord Jesus, I pray for all who have read this blog post, that they may increase their mustard seed faith, stay the course brave heartily, and not lose sight of their purposes and promises you have for each and every one of them. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
The next blog post is one of four of the "Brave Hearted Steppers are deeply rooted in Christ" series called Plant, scheduled on Friday, March 17,2023.
