Brave Blogs: Brave Empowerment - Courage That Moves by Rev. Maria Guzman

Image
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers, Brave empowerment isn’t loud. It isn’t always seen. And it definitely isn’t rooted in perfection. Brave empowerment is faith that moves. Faith that gets up when fear whispers, “Not you.” Faith that steps forward when comfort says, “Stay here.” Last week we were reminded to guard our brave empowerment. This week, we step into the why behind it. Brave Empowerment Is a Command, Not a Suggestion God didn’t tell Joshua to feel brave. He told him to be brave. Why? Because Joshua was standing at the edge of responsibility, leadership, and unknown territory. Sound familiar? Brave empowerment shows up when you’re: • Starting something new • Leading when you feel unqualified • Healing while still hurting • Obeying God before you see the outcome God knew Joshua would feel fear. That’s why courage wasn’t tied to emotion — it was tied to obedience. Faith in action means moving forward while your knees still shake. Courage With Purpose Changes How You Walk Brave...

Brave Blogs: Guard Your Brave Empowerment by Rev. Maria Guzman

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught.” Colossians 2:6–7 (NIV) Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,  In the last couple of weeks, we’ve shared “Your Faith, Your Courage, Your Brave Hearted Step” and reflected on the question, “Where does your Brave Empowerment come from?” This week, the invitation is simple yet important:  How do we guard what God has entrusted to us? In a world full of noise, comparison, and competing voices, guarding what God gives us becomes an intentional act of faith. Brave Empowerment must be protected, nurtured, and sustained—or it can slowly be weakened by distraction, fear, or compromise. Guard Your Heart What we allow into our hearts shapes how we walk out our faith. Empowerment from God thrives in an environment of truth, humility, and obedience—but it weakens when we tolerate spiritual clutter or unhealthy voices.  “Above...

Brave Blogs: Where does your Brave Empowerment come from? by Loretta Muñoz Edwards

Hello Brave Hearted Steppers, Empowerment is often a word taken out of context. In fact, many things are taken out of context that revolve around the theme of power. Many people abuse it over others or use it for their own gain. They can also use it to destroy others or destroy themselves.  Weak Empowerment: (the destruction type)  Reference: 1&2 Kings  You often hear the “spirit of Jezebel” and it is often used out of context. Jezabel, as we know, was from the time of King Ahab. She was known for her obsessive way of promoting pagan practices, and she ordered the killing of prophets of the Lord and persecuted prophets like Elijah.  She felt an empowerment that did not come from God. Let’s apply this to today. A true spirit of Jezebel is someone who promotes sin and false teachings. Making it seem like it’s alright. Jezabel can also be someone who kills someone else’s ministry. Someone who does not want to see you grow, someone who does not want to see the...

Brave Empowerment: Faith in Action, Courage with Purpose “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9 (NLT) Happy New Year, Brave Hearted Steppers!  As we Brave Heartedly step into a new season, I want to encourage each of you to embrace empowerment through faith in action. The start of a year often brings new goals, new challenges, and sometimes even fear of the unknown. But God calls us to courage with purpose, reminding us that we are never alone in our journey. Faith in Action Faith is not just a belief—it’s a decision to act on God’s promises, even when we feel uncertain. Joshua faced the daunting task of leading God’s people into a new land, a mission filled with challenges. God’s command to him was simple yet powerful: be strong and courageous. This same call is for us today. Faith becomes empowerment when we take intentional steps to walk in God’s direction, even wh...

Happy 3 Year Ministry Anniversary to the Brave Hearted Ministry!

Image
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers, Today, with a heart full of gratitude, I celebrate three years of Brave Hearted Ministry. What began as a quiet “yes” to God has grown into a journey of faith, obedience, and courage—one Brave Hearted step at a time. From the very beginning, the Lord placed a burden on my heart to remind His people that He desires us to live life to the fullest with intention, no matter what season we are in. Brave Hearted Ministry was birthed from a calling to walk closely with the Holy Spirit through prayer, fasting, and God’s Word, while taking Brave Hearted steps even when fear tried to speak louder than faith. Over this past season, I have had the privilege of walking alongside our Brave Hearted Steppers through a powerful five-month journey centered on BRAVE actions—principles that continue to shape our Brave Hearted lifestyle: Boldness – Daring to trust God’s call and His plans for our future (Jeremiah 29:11) Resiliency – Developing a faith that endures throug...

BRAVE VISION: Braver than the Noise by Loretta Muñoz Edwards

Image
Good Morning Brave Hearted steppers, Vision is not limited to the physical eyesight; in fact, it requires you to see something deep in your soul. Imagine being blind folded, in a dark fog, and the father holds your hand, and you have to follow him without seeing a thing. And as you walk, you hear voices of others saying you’ll never make it, people laughing at you, mocking you, and accusing you.  Let’s hit closer to home with these voices…. “You will always be alone, nobody cares about you, they don’t believe in you, you are too religious, you don’t look Christian, keep your mouth shut, nobody wants to listen to you, you don’t have that gift, you are jealous, you are prideful, you are shy….” Would you still continue walking? Would you still trust God? Would you still see the bigger picture? Brave Vision is more than vision. It comes from deep within the soul, in a place only God can search. You need to silence the noise. It requires you to move forward. It requires you to no...
