Brave Blogs: Where does your Brave Empowerment come from? by Loretta Muñoz Edwards
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,
Empowerment is often a word taken out of context. In fact, many things are taken out of context that revolve around the theme of power. Many people abuse it over others or use it for their own gain. They can also use it to destroy others or destroy themselves.
Weak Empowerment: (the destruction type)
Reference: 1&2 Kings
You often hear the “spirit of Jezebel” and it is often used out of context. Jezabel, as we know, was from the time of King Ahab. She was known for her obsessive way of promoting pagan practices, and she ordered the killing of prophets of the Lord and persecuted prophets like Elijah.
She felt an empowerment that did not come from God. Let’s apply this to today. A true spirit of Jezebel is someone who promotes sin and false teachings. Making it seem like it’s alright. Jezabel can also be someone who kills someone else’s ministry. Someone who does not want to see you grow, someone who does not want to see the anointing flow. They will put you down in any way, shape, or form. With words, actions, and can even make you fall. They feel good when you leave, they feel good when you are sad, they feel good when you are hurt, they feel good when you fall.
A murderer and a psychopath for God’s chosen people. The killer of dreams. The jealousy wraps them in so deeply that they cannot see you rise. They fear your leadership and devotion to God. You are a threat to their evil empowerment. An empowerment full of envy. A weak and pathetic empowerment.
Brave Empowerment: (the holy type)
Brave empowerment is one that is given from the Lord. This type of empowerment is a threat to the kingdom of darkness. This empowerment doesn’t seek their own title, knowledge, or ego. No.
This is a selfless type of empowerment. That shakes the walls of heaven and hell. It’s one rooted in truth. This type of empowerment makes you take off your sandals. This makes you fall on your knees headfirst. This makes you forgive. This type of empowerment hurts like searing pain. You get growing pains and no ice packs or painkillers. It’s raw. Like an addict going through withdrawal.
But just when you feel like you can’t take it any longer. It’s nighttime, and Satan wants to attack. Ohh how the game changes when you fast, seek God face-first, and read His word. And you open your mouth at the pitch of dark. And rebuke him in the name of Jesus, and they flee. This type of empowerment comes from God.
Empowerment is power that comes from God. It is only given to you if you die from the flesh. The flesh holds greed, pride, unforgiveness, and tension from the day of the fall of man in Genesis. The question is, are you brave enough?
“When he saw Elijah, he said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?” “I have not made trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied. “But you and your father’s family have. You have abandoned the Lord’s commands and have followed the Baals.” 1 Kings 18:17-18
Elijah always spoke the truth. Boldly. They viewed him as a threat because they belonged to the kingdom of darkness. He had empowerment from God himself. Let’s seek such empowerment and do so bravely.
Peace and Blessings,
