Brave Blogs: Guard Your Brave Empowerment by Rev. Maria Guzman

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught.”Colossians 2:6–7 (NIV)

Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,

In the last couple of weeks, we’ve shared “Your Faith, Your Courage, Your Brave Hearted Step” and reflected on the question, “Where does your Brave Empowerment come from?”

This week, the invitation is simple yet important: How do we guard what God has entrusted to us?

In a world full of noise, comparison, and competing voices, guarding what God gives us becomes an intentional act of faith.

Brave Empowerment must be protected, nurtured, and sustained—or it can slowly be weakened by distraction, fear, or compromise.

Guard Your Heart

What we allow into our hearts shapes how we walk out our faith. Empowerment from God thrives in an environment of truth, humility, and obedience—but it weakens when we tolerate spiritual clutter or unhealthy voices. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23

Reflection: Are there voices, habits, or mindsets that are quietly draining your faith? Ask God to reveal what needs to be released so His empowerment can remain strong.

Stay Rooted in God’s Presence

Brave Empowerment is not sustained by emotion or momentum—it is sustained by intimacy with God. Prayer, worship, and time in the Word are not optional; they are essential. “Remain in Me, as I also remain in you… apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:4–5

When we remain rooted in Him, our Brave Hearted courage is renewed, our discernment is sharpened, and our Brave Hearted steps stay aligned with His will.

Walk It Out Faithfully

Empowerment is not proven in big moments alone, but in daily obedience. Small, consistent Brave Hearted steps matter to God. Faithfulness protects our hearts from pride on one end and discouragement on the other. “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:21

Brave Encouragement:

Don’t underestimate the power of showing up, praying again, forgiving again, believing again. Brave Empowerment grows as we walk faithfully—one Brave Hearted step at a time.

Your Brave Hearted Practice This Week

Take time this week to ask yourself:

1. What am I allowing to influence my heart?

2. Am I staying rooted in God’s presence?

3. What faithful step is God asking me to continue or restart?

Write it down. Pray over it. Brave Heartedly walk it out.

Prayer

Lord, help me to guard what You have placed within me. Keep my heart aligned with Your truth and my steps rooted in Your presence. Strengthen me to walk faithfully, boldly, and humbly in the empowerment that comes from You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Remember, Brave Hearted Stepper:

Brave Empowerment is not just received—it is protected.

It is not rushed—it is rooted.

And it is not temporary—it is sustained by faithfulness.

Stay Rooted, Aligned, and Faithful,
