Brave Blogs: Brave Empowerment - Courage That Moves by Rev. Maria Guzman
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,
Brave empowerment isn’t loud.
It isn’t always seen.
And it definitely isn’t rooted in perfection.
Brave empowerment is faith that moves.
Faith that gets up when fear whispers, “Not you.”
Faith that steps forward when comfort says, “Stay here.”
Last week we were reminded to guard our brave empowerment. This week, we step into the why behind it.
Brave Empowerment Is a Command, Not a Suggestion
God didn’t tell Joshua to feel brave.
He told him to be brave.
Why? Because Joshua was standing at the edge of responsibility, leadership, and unknown territory. Sound familiar? Brave empowerment shows up when you’re:
• Starting something new
• Leading when you feel unqualified
• Healing while still hurting
• Obeying God before you see the outcome
God knew Joshua would feel fear. That’s why courage wasn’t tied to emotion — it was tied to obedience.
Faith in action means moving forward while your knees still shake.
Courage With Purpose Changes How You Walk
Brave empowerment is not random boldness. It’s courage with divine direction.
Joshua wasn’t stepping into just any land — he was stepping into a promise. In the same way, the brave steps God is asking of you are connected to purpose, calling, and Kingdom impact.
You’re not just:
• Serving — you’re creating Kingdom impact
• Praying — you’re shifting atmospheres
• Showing up — you’re answering an assignment
When courage has purpose, quitting is no longer an easy option. You remember Who sent you.
You Are Not Empowered Alone
Joshua 1:9 ends with a promise we sometimes rush past:
“For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
That’s the secret of brave empowerment.
Not self-confidence.
Not personality.
Not experience.
Presence.
God never empowers you to walk into something He refuses to walk into with you. Every brave “yes” you give is backed by His nearness. Every step into the unknown is covered by His companionship.
You don’t have to be fearless.
You just have to be faithful.
Faith in Action Looks Like This
Brave empowerment shows up in everyday obedience:
-Speaking truth with love even when it’s uncomfortable
-Applying for the opportunity you feel underqualified for
-Setting boundaries that protect your peace
-Leading, serving, and loving when no one applauds
-Trusting God when the full picture isn’t visible

-Trusting God when the full picture isn’t visible
Faith in action is courage that says,
“God said go — so I’m going.”
A Word for the Brave Hearted Stepper
You may feel stretched.
You may feel unsure.
You may even feel tired.
But if God has placed something in front of you, then He has already placed strength within you.
This is your reminder:
You are not behind.
You are not abandoned.
You are not incapable.
You are commanded to be courageous — and empowered by His presence to do exactly that.
So take the step.
Send the message.
Start the thing.
Pray the prayer.
Lead the way.
Brave empowerment is faith in motion — and your courage has purpose.
Stay Brave. Stay Faithful. Stay in Motion,
