Brave Empowerment: Faith in Action, Courage with Purpose

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NLT)

Happy New Year, Brave Hearted Steppers! 

As we Brave Heartedly step into a new season, I want to encourage each of you to embrace empowerment through faith in action. The start of a year often brings new goals, new challenges, and sometimes even fear of the unknown. But God calls us to courage with purpose, reminding us that we are never alone in our journey.

Faith in Action

Faith is not just a belief—it’s a decision to act on God’s promises, even when we feel uncertain. Joshua faced the daunting task of leading God’s people into a new land, a mission filled with challenges. God’s command to him was simple yet powerful: be strong and courageous. This same call is for us today. Faith becomes empowerment when we take intentional steps to walk in God’s direction, even when it feels uncomfortable.

• “For we live by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7
• “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:17

My Encouragement for You: Take one Brave Hearted step this week toward a goal God has placed in your heart, trusting He will guide you.

Courage with Purpose

Courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear; it means moving forward in spite of it. God equips us with His strength so we can rise above discouragement and hesitation. Every step we take with Him is purposeful. Whether it’s pursuing a new calling, speaking truth, or standing up for what’s right, courage aligned with God’s purpose transforms ordinary actions into extraordinary impact.

• “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
• “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

My Challenge to You: Identify one area in your life where God is asking you to act boldly this month. Pray for strength to move forward Brave Heartedly.

Your Brave Hearted Step Today

Take a moment today to reflect: Where is God asking you to step forward with faith and courage? It could be in your family, your workplace, your ministry, or even in your personal growth. Whatever it is, know that God’s presence goes before you, behind you, and all around you. You are not walking alone.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Psalm 32:8

My Prayer for You: Lord, as I step into this new year, fill me with courage and strength. Help me to act in faith and pursue Your purpose with boldness. Let every step I take be guided by Your wisdom and Your love. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Remember, Brave Hearted Stepper: You are equipped, empowered, and never alone. Let this year be one of faith in action and courage with purpose.
