Go through the healing process and you will find JOY in you! by Erika Sanchez

Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,

HEALING

What exactly does the term "healing" imply to me?   Healing can take many forms. It could take a physical or spiritual shape, for example.

We all experience some form of trauma throughout our lives. It could be a painful loss of someone, a divorce, or we are recovering from physical agony.

Going through a period of healing can be confusing and frustrating. Whether you’re overcoming an illness or injury or mourning the loss of a loved one, you can sometimes feel stuck with no way out. It's helpful to know that you are not alone in times like these. While there is no finite timeline for recovery, eventually, you will reach the other side. Times of healing are also great growth opportunities, whether emotional, spiritual, or physical.

Therefore, if you find in the scriptures, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18

Healing is the most time-consuming process that someone can go through; not everyone can deal with pain because no one enjoys being in pain. Nonetheless, it is required for discomfort. We must revel in the agony. You see, the objective of agony is to help you heal. There can be no healing if there is no pain. No one enjoys pain, yet it is required; everyone wants a quick microwave fix, not realizing that it is simply a temporary fixer-upper. Follow the steps. Allow yourself to heal. Make it a daily practice to declare, "I AM HEALED!"

"And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed." 1 Peter 2:24

We must always go through the fire to be refined for the best. Consider us a diamond.  Before becoming a diamond, a diamond undergoes a procedure. A diamond is not born polished and gleaming. It was nothing exceptional at first, but with enough pressure and time, it becomes spectacular, and that is what you should allow yourself to become. That is when the healing comes in.

The Bible does not specifically link physical healing with spiritual healing. Sometimes people are physically healed when they place their faith in Christ, but this is not always the case. Sometimes it is God’s will to heal, but sometimes it is not.  The apostle John gives us the proper perspective: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him” (1 John 5:14-15).

God still performs miracles. God still heals people. Sickness, disease, pain, and death are still realities in this world. Unless the Lord returns.  Faith is also an important component in all of this. Understand that if you believe you will be healed, you will be healed.

James 2:26 we read, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Don't give up and never feel alone; instead, go through the process and you will find that Joy will reside in your heart.
