"Soaring in Faith" by Rev. Grace Reyes

Blessings Brave Hearted Steppers,

Faith will Cause you to Soar Like an Eagle

But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 NKJV

What comes to mind when I read the word “Faith” is that it is a verb, (definition: a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence) it requires something from us for it to be activated. It requires us to see in the natural what the Lord has been arranging in the supernatural. Faith propelled the women with the issue of blood to risk everything to reach Jesus, she believed with her whole being that her healing was directly tied to this humble Rabbi.

Matthew 9:20-22 AMP (Then a woman who had suffered from a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the [tassel] fringe of His outer robe;  21  for she had been saying to herself, “If I only touch His outer robe, I will be healed.”  22  But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Take courage, daughter; your [personal trust and confident] faith [in Me] has made you well.” And at once the woman was [completely] healed.)

We can see from the reading of this passage that it was her faith that propelled her to seek Jesus after so many years of seeking the help of doctors who caused her to use all of her money and in the end, they could not heal her.

Just like the scripture from Isaiah 40:31 assures us that God Himself will lift us up from our circumstances and cause us to SOAR above them. He will make us lie down on green pastures (Psalm 23:2), He is Yahweh Shalom in our distress, when we long for peace he helps us to wait patiently for Him to provide it.

Isaiah 40:31 explains the importance of Faith and how it activates the heavenlies in our favor:

  • Waiting on the LORD: This phrase signifies a patient, expectant, and hopeful trust in God's timing and promises. It implies a sense of anticipation and readiness to receive God's help and guidance.
"Shall renew their strength;"
  • Renewing strength: This suggests a revival or restoration of energy and vitality. Trusting in the Lord brings spiritual and emotional rejuvenation, enabling believers to face challenges with renewed vigor.
"They shall mount up with wings like eagles,"
  • Mount up with wings like eagles: Eagles are known for their ability to soar high with minimal effort, riding thermal updrafts. This metaphor illustrates the idea of rising above difficulties and gaining a higher perspective through faith. Believers, strengthened by God, can overcome obstacles and soar to new heights.
"They shall run and not be weary,"
  • Run and not be weary: Running signifies active engagement in life's journey and spiritual endeavors. Those who trust in God will have the endurance to continue their efforts without succumbing to fatigue or discouragement.
"They shall walk and not faint."
  • Walk and not faint: Walking represents steady, consistent progress in daily life. The promise here is that believers will not lose heart or collapse under pressure but will have the stamina to persist in their walk with God.
Isaiah 40:31 reassures believers that waiting on the Lord—trusting in His timing and relying on His strength—leads to spiritual renewal and enduring perseverance. This verse encourages faith and patience, promising that God will provide the necessary strength to overcome life's challenges and to continue moving forward without losing hope.
