Brave Blogs | Brave Positioning — Seeking God with Intention by Rev. Maria Guzman

Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,

There is a difference between casually looking for God and intentionally seeking Him.

Brave Positioning, as I said before, is not passive. It is not accidental. It is not waiting for spiritual moments to happen by chance. It is a deliberate alignment of the heart that says, "Lord, I am coming after You on purpose."

Jeremiah 29:13 AMP says, "Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart." Jeremiah reminds us God is not far away or hard to reach. He is near, and He wants to be found by you. When you truly turn your hearts toward Him-not halfway, not distracted, but fully-He promises to meet you there. This isn't about doing things perfectly, but about seeking Him with sincerity and intention. God's word is trustworthy. It doesn't change, and it doesn't fail. So you can live with confidence, knowing this is true: When you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him.

Seeking God with Intention

To seek God with intention means you are no longer waiting for "perfect conditions" to pursue His presence. You create space for Him in the middle of your real life-your work schedule, your responsibilities, your emotions, your questions, and even your exhaustion.

Intentional seeking sounds like:
"God, I will meet You before I start my day."
"God, I will pause before I scroll."
"God, I will listen before I speak."
"God, I will return to You even after distractions pull me away."

This is Brave Positioning-choosing God repeatedly, not just emotionally, but spiritually and intentionally.

Brave Positioning Requires Focus

In a distracted world, focus is a form of warfare.

Every distraction that pulls your attention also pulls your positioning. If the enemy cannot stop your calling, he will try to scatter your focus. But when you are positioned with intention, you begin to guard your attention like something sacred-because it is.

Mary and Martha shows us this truth. Martha was very busy and distracted doing (serving resposibilities) for Jesus, while Mary was positioned at His feet (continually listening to His teaching). Jesus did not rebuke Martha's service, but He affirmed Mary's posture. Why? Because presence must come before productivity.

Brave Positioning says: "I will not let my doing replace my being with God."

Intention Produces Encounter

We often desire encounters with God, but resist the consistency that makes room for them.

When you seek God with intention:
  • Your heart becomes more sensitive to His voice.
  • Your spiritual discernment becomes clearer.
  • Your spiritual endurance strengthens.
  • Your identity becomes more rooted in Him.
You don't just visit God-you begin to dwell with Him.

Psalm 27:4 AMP is reflective of this posture: "One thing I ask...that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life." That is not a momentary visit. That is intentional dwelling (being close to God).

Brave Hearted Challenge: Reposition Today

Brave Positioning asks a simple but powerful question: Where have I been seeking God casually when He is calling me to seek Him intentionally?

Today is an invitation to re-align:
  • Reposition your mornings
  • Reposition your thoughts
  • Reposition your priorities
  • Resposition your hunger of God
Not out of pressure, but out of love.

Because when you position yourself intentionally with God, you are not trying to earn His presence-you are responding to it.

Brave Hearted Steppers are not formed in random pursuits. They are formed in intentional seeking. And in that intentional pursuit, something powerful happens: You don't just find God...You become found in Him.

Be encouraged to seek God with intention daily.

Many Blessings,
Rev. Maria Guzman
