Cozy Cups & Open Hearts by Lissette Camacho

Hello Brave Hearted Steppers!

Here we are in December, the final month of the year—a time for reflection on all that has unfolded over the past twelve months.

During this season, it's common for many of us to experience a wide range of emotions—both joy and sorrow. We often reflect on our loved ones, which can stir up a lot of feelings.

Naturally, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the season. With that in mind, I’d like us to take a moment to...breathe and reflect on God’s love.

At times, we may lose sight of the true meaning of the season, which is Christ and His love for us. After all, without Him, there would be no reason to celebrate.

Just as the gift of salvation would not exist without God's Son, Jesus. This is why we can rejoice in the goodness of Jesus. The fact that God loves us so deeply that He gave us His Son is a true reflection of His love.

When I contemplate 1 John 4:10, it feels like I’m being given a daily gift.

“This shows what love is: It is not that we have loved God, but that he loved us. He loved us so much that he sent his Son to save us from sin. He sent Jesus to die as a sacrifice, to take the punishment for our sins.”
‭‭
Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬-reminds us that His mercies are renewed each day.

“The Lord can always be trusted to show mercy each morning.” Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬ ‭CEV‬‬

I believe that in the practice of daily renewal, God expresses His love for us, and it’s through that love that the Lord inspires and uplifts us.

Just as He inspires and uplifts us, we should strive to do the same for others. After all, what greater gift can we offer our loved ones?

Love is the greatest gift we can offer. It’s about prioritizing the well-being of others and practicing love unconditionally, not based on what they do for us or the gifts they give.

As this season of giving unfolds, look for opportunities to share your kindness. Identify those you can extend God's love to, and explore ways to practice selflessness.

Let us share our testimony of His love with others. His love bestowed upon us the ultimate gift of His Son, and through that selfless act...we are saved!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” ‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Everlasting life…a gift that never ends. Enjoy that gift. Enjoy His love and love others just as Christ first loved you.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

God bless,
