Love

The greatest choice ever made. 

The greatest choice ever given. 

It is waking up every morning and deciding that love will lead you. That love will guide you. And that love will drive you. 

Knowing that I won’t always feel it and I won’t always want it, but it is always available. 

It is the grandest truth in a world full of lies, and the greatest force in a world with so much hate. 

Consciously looking beyond the flaws, beyond the anger, beyond the hurt, and beyond all things that come to taint.

Love

The one you give and the one you receive. 

Yet love, continues to present itself in our lives on a daily basis.

Not a selfish and self serving love, who takes from others, who only wants for itself. 

But a selfless, compassionate, and unconditional love. 

One that sees me as I am. That holds me when I can’t stand. That speaks to me in the stillness of the night, and calls after me even when I am in a crowd. 

A love the preserves my life. That doesn’t allow me to slip too far or sink too deep. A love that sits with me when I want to be left alone and extends through me when I need to give it on. 

One that holds not a single record of who I was, but continues to polish the gem that I am, at every moment and in every situation. 

A love so deep that it chases after me. Relentlessly. Fiercely pursuing my heart. 

In the stages of grief, in my stages of unbelief, when it feels like it’s gone dark, or turned into stone, and especially when I wonder - God, where are you? 

There’s a whisper

There’s a hug

There’s an embrace

There’s a gust of wind that overtakes

And fresh air to breathe

There’s a gift that shows up out of nowhere

And a provision that only HE KNEW I needed 

There’s a burning bush

A sudden rush of tears

A “I am thinking and praying for you” text 

And in all of this a common truth - an amazing and wonderful God who wants you to know that you are 

LOVED

That He knows you

He sees you

He hasn’t forgotten 

Because He’s always LOVED YOU! 

That is a Brave Hearted kind of LOVE.
