Spring into Action: Embracing Purpose of Every Task by Pastora Yolanda Hernandez
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23 (NIV)
I recall many times in my walk with the Lord that my main question to Him in prayer was to reveal to me my purpose. I know that He chose me, to which this day I am amazed at how merciful and patient He is with me, but what was my purpose? What did He want from me as His daughter? I am sure that you probably have the same question.
Let’s analyze what purpose means. Purpose acts as a North Star. It helps you decide what matters most, guiding you toward goals and actions that align with your values and beliefs.
In our human mind, we often associate purpose with moments that we have lived throughout our lives. For example, moments of achievement, milestones, and breakthroughs. Even though I have experienced some of the greatest purposes in my life in quiet, ordinary times,
I might have personal purpose in life or personal goals, but what matters more is what God’s purpose with my life. His purpose for me is much better. I have to be intentional with my steps to fulfill His purpose in my life. Jeremiah 29:11 ‘For I know the plans I have for you.”
So, being intentional with my surroundings as I do my daily chores is of importance. We think that God only shows up in the pulpit, but we serve an omnipresent God. He is everywhere; we cannot seclude Him to only one place. Let me tell you that He shows up in your daily living, doing laundry, making dinner for your family, or simply at the grocery store.
What is being intentional? It is making conscious, thoughtful choices rather than drifting through life reacting to circumstances. It’s about doing things with meaning and clarity, not just going through the ups and downs of motions.
Being intentional is living with purpose, it's being focused and knowing why you do what you do.
Your actions must align with your values and with what God is calling you to do. You must make sure that you are showing up mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. That you are fully there giving your very best.
Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom”
Everything will become meaningful when it’s done with the right heart. God is watching you and could be using your daily faithfulness and intention to fulfill your purpose as a trampoline for something more. You do not have to worry about not being noticed because God is compromised to see you and bless you.
Brave Hearted Steppers, heaven is watching. The world and its surroundings see the work you are doing, but God goes beyond and sees your heart.
