Expect the Suddenly by Lissette Camacho
“On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.” Acts of the Apostles 2:1, 3-4 NLT
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers!
Here we are….in the month of June. Which means that we are officially halfway through our year!
I'm not sure how you feel, but the past six months have definitely been a wild ride for me. I've experienced both some wonderful moments and some challenges.
However, I am grateful that God has been with me through it all. I am grateful for my Christian friends and support team for their prayers and encouragement on those moments I wanted to quit!
That’s why this month’s Bible verse resonates with me, and I hope it touches your heart too.
You see, if it wasn’t for God’s presence and the support of my sister’s in Christ—I’m not sure if I would’ve made it this far on my own.
Over the past six months, I've encountered a variety of challenges, including:
1. Moving to a new state with just my clothes and my furry friend.
2. Remembering my daughter on her 2nd anniversary of passing and what would’ve been her 40th birthday.
3. Reuniting and moving in with a high school friend after three decades of lost contact with her.
4. Embarking on a new job, joining a new church community, searching for a new car, and relocating to a new apartment—each of these experiences brought its own set of challenges and stress.
I faced numerous doubts, fears, anxieties, stress, and feelings of depression. My faith was challenged in countless ways.
What I can share is that in the midst of it all—just when I felt myself growing faint—God made a powerful move in every area I was being challenged by!
This month will mark six months since I moved to a different state, carrying nothing but a promise from God. All I can express is my gratitude that God remains true to His promises.
I'm excited to share that I've found a new home church, a car, a job that I truly love and that allows me to make a positive impact, and a place of my own to live.
He also has restored a friendship that was facing many challenges after being apart for so long. Not only that, but this same friend has now given her heart to the Lord!
God comforted my heart as I remembered my daughter, surrounding me with love through the presence of others, and I found solace in that support.
I couldn't have achieved any of this without God's grace and the support of a community of believers who prayed for me.
I share all of this to emphasize that God is still at work in moments of sudden change! If your faith is facing challenges, seek out and connect with others who share your beliefs and as you pray—wait on God!
His Holy Spirit will fill you. His Word will guide you. He will give you the strength and ability that you need to overcome obstacles.
Don’t quit! And don’t let go!! Wait on the Lord. Trust Him and stand on His promises. God is working everything out for your good. Your suddenly—is on its way!!
“We know that God helps those people who love him. He uses everything that happens to them to bring something good. He does this for the people that he has chosen to serve him.” Romans 8:28 EASY
