Rise and Roar by Lissette Camacho
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers!
Have you ever experienced feelings of guilt or been overwhelmed by your thoughts? I certainly have.
Times when I've let my desires take control versus moments when I've followed the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The issue was that my mind was continuously engaged in an internal battle, filled with feelings of guilt and inner turmoil.
However, it was deeper than that. What was truly happening in my mind was a lack of trust in God regarding my situation.
I believed that God wouldn't want to help me since I was seeking immediate results rather than waiting for His timing.
I faced difficult lessons that left me burdened with guilt and shame. Isolated and overwhelmed by my thoughts, I struggled silently without anyone to confide in.
It was only when I chose to repent and surrender to God that I began to notice doors opening and everything falling into place.
The moment I decided to embrace integrity and become a truly honest person was when I began to see the favor of God in my life.
You see—in Christ, there is no sin, and He embodies honesty. I’m thankful for His empathy toward us, as well as His willingness to correct us when we stray.
Hebrews 4:15 (NIV) states: "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin."
This verse emphasizes the empathy of Jesus as our high priest, highlighting that he understands our struggles and temptations because he experienced them himself, yet remained without sin. This provides comfort and assurance to believers in their struggles.
Since we serve a God of integrity and are called to righteousness, we should aim to live by His example.
Honesty brings forth bravery. Honesty brings forth integrity.
Honesty brings forth courage and the favor of God.
Now—in the face of challenging situations, I take a moment to pause. I turn to prayer and allow myself to wait, trusting in God's promises.
These two scriptures help me stay grounded when I'm tempted to take control myself.
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”” John 16:33 NLT
No matter what you are facing. Know that God is in control and He is working in our favor.
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 NLT
Embrace those promises and place your faith in God. Don't let your thoughts lead you into distress when God is offering you courage.
Embrace honesty, and you'll discover the rewards that God has in store for you.
I’ll leave you with this: "Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom." — Thomas Jefferson
