The Brave Hearted You: Moving on by Erika Sanchez

Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,

Holding on to the past can sabotage God's future, and waiting until everything makes sense will make us disobedient. When God calls us to move forward or asks us to make some changes, fear will cause us to stay where we are and not move forward with God. When we are faced with repeated challenges and obstacles in a specific area of our lives, it may be a signal from God that a change is needed.

There are many reasons and challenges as to why we must move on from certain scenarios. It can be from a break-up/divorce, a job, or friendships, etc. Some of us at times hate to admit and say to ourselves “I think it’s time to move on" and choose to ignore it. But we fail to understand that God at times makes things so uncomfortable for us to help us realize it’s time to MOVE ON!  We become stubborn and ignore the signs and voice of God. But we must open our hearts and minds to trust God, no matter how he leads us. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” When a relationship becomes stagnant or even harmful, it may be a sign that God is telling you to move on. The Bible advises pursuing healthy relationships that promote growth and harmony.

Proverbs 13:20 "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”

Relationships play a significant role in our lives, and God desires healthy, uplifting connections. This can mean in friendships or while you’re dating, and if you are married.

God also speaks in 1 Corinthians 15:33 “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’” We must not allow ourselves to get polluted as it would hinder our souls. Understand, that if a relationship is detrimental to your character or hindering your spiritual growth, you should distance yourself from it.

We as people like to hold on to certain memories, and relationships, all because we do not want to let go and move on. It’s very hard especially when you’re dealing with a past trauma and can’t seem to let go because you become a prisoner to it. It binds you and it becomes so hard to break free from it. But when you call out to God, our Jehova Rapha our Healer, He rescues us from pain, hurt, and trauma. No one says moving on is never easy, yet it’s necessary when needed. We must learn to place ourselves at the feet of the master and say God help me move on. He awaits for us all the time just to hear us say “Lord help me move on, let your strength become my strength, and let your joy become my joy “

So I end by saying that in times of uncertainty when you face important decisions about whether to stay in a particular situation or move on from it, you don’t have to worry about making the wrong choice when you seek God’s direction. You can rely on God to give you signs that show you when it’s time to move on. You can also trust God to lead you into a future filled with hope.

Blessings ❤️
Erika Sanchez
