Cultivating a Grateful Heart: Fully grasp God's work in our lives by Cherice Hernandez
My Father is always working, and so am I” (John 5:17).
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,
When we think of the work always, we can think of something or someone being consistent in the pursuit of something. We think that what is always behind us - in-front of us - next to us won’t ever fail. Because it is always working. In this case, when unveiling the word ALWAYS we are unveiling the character of God and his heart for us as his children.
HE is ALWAYS working in our lives
HE is ALWAYS pursuing us
HE is ALWAYS fighting for us
HE is ALWAYS protecting us
HE is ALWAYS working - Jesus is always working - the Holy Spirit is always at work in our lives.
Philippians 2:13 reads “For it is God who works in you to will and act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
I want to be in the middle of God’s will for my life.
Anyone else?
I want to know what He’s doing and I want to partner with Him in that. So today, we’re going to look at not just that God is working, but we’re going to look at how to experience God working in your daily life, because He is always working all around you.
But, for today’s reading, I’d like to share how to be aware of how God works in our lives.
- God fills us - God fills us with His spirit. In Acts 2, one of the very first things that God did for the Church is He filled them with the spirit, and He wants to fill you as well. God loves to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. He is still filling today. Are you asking him to fill you?
- God prepares us - Ephesians 2:10 says, “You are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which He prepared in advance for you to do.” Every situation you walk into, God has already been working to prepare it for you. He’s prepared good works for you to do.
- God expands us - Galatians 5, we’re told that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and lastly self-control. God wants us to grow - the same fruits he carries he wants us to carry. How can others possibly know and see Jesus loves in us if we cannot display and act out his fruits?
- Through all of this God gives us strength- Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” He wants to strengthen you. If you are facing difficulty, I want you to know that God strengthens you. He can and He will when you ask Him. God strengthens us. It’s not by our own strength and might but his alone that brings us to the promised land. During this process he also……
- DRAWS NEAR TO US! No one can come to the Father unless the Father Himself draws them to Him.” Did you know that God wants all people to be saved? And he is working in every single person’s life to draw them to Him. God is drawing you and the people around you to Him. So let’s just continue to allow God to do what he does best and that’s to take a hold of our lives and everything in it. He is the author of our lives and he knows exactly what we need and when we need it - so rest assured in this season that God has your back - he is for you - he is working in the behind the scenes and he is your God!
Be active in your prayer life - reading his word - taking time to worship and praise him every single moment you get. This opens the doorway to God and his hand over your life. Make it a habit to declare the promises over your life and walking in faith to those promises.
Let God renew your mind in this season - let him turn your heart to a heart of repentance today! Let nothing be a barrier between you and God! He is near to you. Are you ready to be apart of Gods agenda?
Prayer,
Lord, I come before your presence - and I just thank you for all you are doing and all you have already done! I give you my advance praise and worship. Thank you for the sacrifice you made on the cross for me to have access to you eternally. I pray that every single person who has read this blood will have an open heart - a heart willing to surrender their plans for yours. A heart that says YES to your will over their lives and wholeheartedly trust that you are the God who works all things for good. I pray you continue to move in their lives according to your will and that will see your hand in every situation they cross. I pray that their ears will become sensitive to your voice and their minds will be filled with your thoughts alone. I thank you for what you are doing my God. I pray all this in your name Jesus. Amen.
Blessings,
Cherice Hernandez
