Spring Cleaning for the BraveHearted Soul by Rev. Grace Reyes
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Psalm 51:10-12 NKJV
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,
We like David, have had to face those moments when we decide to move from our place of suffering, loss or sickness and we are humble as seek forgiveness and restoration. There are seasons we face that are full of darkness, despair, and suffering, it could be the loss of a loved one, a loss of a job or sickness. We are sometimes at a crossroads as to which place to go. Do we stay here, or do we move on to a place where healing awaits us.
I believe that God created the seasons for a reason, He started by creating the world and everything in it, Eden was reserved for man, and it was there where he created all things to function in a way that nurtured and benefited us as His children.
The different seasons make us aware that nothing lasts forever, that each season has its time and that we can look forward to its changing.
Spring is a wonderful time of year where are given the sense of renewal and newness.
A Bravehearted Stepper will react to this beckoning of the Lord to clean all the things that have accumulated during our winter season of loss, lack and sorrow. and boldly begin to seek His face for blessings for her life.
In Psalm 51:10 David pleads with the Lord to “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” He has just gone through a season of guilt and regret at what he had done with Bathsheba.
There are times when you realize that you must shift, it is in this renewal season you begin to hear God’s voice beckoning you to move forward from the dark to the light.
David sought the Lord after being confronted by Nathan the prophet regarding his affair with Bathsheba. David begins to realize he must get right with the Lord. He must repent and clean up his life.
As a Brave Hearted stepper, we seek the Lord when we are uncertain, He is the God “Who Sees Us’. I will ask the Lord in this season to clean up all the dark places in my life, to begin the process of cleaning out the bitterness, unforgiveness that still lingers in the cracks of my broken heart.
I will ask of the Lord to pour His holy spirit in my heart so that I can be strengthened to the point that I can forgive without hesitation. That the light of Christ shine through in a way that reaches those who still sit in darkness, depression, or despair. I will ask of the Lord to give me a new song in this season of renewal and awakening.
I look forward as the trees bud and the earth awakens to a spring in my step and hope in my heart that the God of creation will create in me a new heart a pure heart that loves others like He loves. I am asking the Lord to heal the broken places and restore my heart for the season ahead. He is a God of restoration and hope and I am thankful each new day that He will be there to unclutter anything that gets in my way to joy in Him.
