Stay on the path as you Embrace the Unexpected by Maria Guzman

Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,

"Stay on the path that the LORD your God has commanded you to follow." Deuteronomy 5:33 NLT

As I came across this topic, it reminded me of something I did last year. I have to say, to an extent, I am afraid of heights. I say to an extent as I love to go on roller coasters, but looking down from a high altitude stops me in my tracks and paralyzes me with fear. As God inspired the title of this ministry "Brave Hearted", since then, I've had to replace my fears with "Brave Heartedly, I'm going to..."

Last year, for my birthday, I decided to go on a ropes course. The ropes course is ABOVE ground. Now, when looking at it from a distance, I said to myself, "I can do this!" Of note, this ropes course can only be done individually as there are two challenges to choose from whether you want you want the challenge to be easier or tougher as you go until the end of the course. The person working for this ropes course strapped me in with the necessary equipment I would need for this course.

I was pumped and ready to go without fear to the first course into the unknown (unexpected)...I walked up the stairs stepped onto the first platform looked at the two choices (supposedly one was easier than the other) for the ropes course and thought to myself, "I can't do this!" To me, I didn't know what I was going to do as I was so consumed with fear. I said to myself, "I have to go back" BUT, my loving husband was watching everything (of course to see if I would fall, lol) that was happening and told me, "Don't worry, you got this!" Listening to His voice and knowing that he was cheering me on the whole way through brought a sense of peace, strength, and confidence, that my fear just went away. To end this example, I was SO PROUD of myself that I completed the ropes course! It was a rocky start but I made it!

That is the same with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He straps us with the necessary equipment (Armor of God-Ephesians 6:10-18) that we need for our Brave Hearted journeys. He also gives us a choice if I want my journey to be easier (with Christ) or tougher (without Christ). When fear stops us in our tracks and paralyzes us with fear, our GOD with His unfailing love is watching and saying, "Don't worry, you got this!" Listening to His voice through His Word and cheering us on (be Brave Hearted and courageous-Joshua 1:9) the whole way through your individual Brave Hearted journeys will bring us a sense of peace (Philippians 4:7) and strength that surpasses all understanding and a Brave Hearted confidence that you can do ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS YOU (Philippians 4:13)! Your fear of the unknown (unexpected) just goes away in the name of Jesus!

Father God, thank you for your unfailing love for us. as it enables us to stay on the path you have individually laid out for us to follow. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Many Blessings,
Maria Guzman
