Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,

In our journey of faith, we are called not just to fly but to soar on the promises of our Heavenly Father. This theme, “Don’t just fly, Soar on His Promises,” reminds us that our faith is meant to elevate us above life’s challenges, enabling us to experience the fullness of God’s love and power. Today let’s explore how we can soar in faith by clinging to His promises, with 10 practical steps and life applications.

1. Trust in God’s Promises

The foundation of soaring in faith is trusting in God’s promises. The Bible is filled with assurances of His love, provision, and guidance. As Isaiah 40:31 beautifully states, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Trusting in these promises gives us the strength to rise above our circumstances.

Life Application: Start each day by reading and meditating on a promise from the Bible. Write it down and carry it with you as a reminder of God’s faithfulness.

2. Walk by Faith, Not by Sight

Faith often requires us to step into the unknown, trusting that God will guide our path. As 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we live by faith, not by sight.” This means relying on God’s wisdom and direction, even when we can’t see the outcome.

Life Application: When faced with decisions, pray for guidance and take steps in faith, believing that God will lead you. Keep a journal of how God has guided you in the past to encourage you in future steps of faith.

3. Embrace God’s Strength

Our strength alone is insufficient to soar. We need God’s power working in us. Ephesians 3:16-17 encourages us, “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.”

Life Application: Spend time in prayer and worship, inviting the Holy Spirit to fill you with His strength. Acknowledge your dependence on God and ask for His power to be evident in your life.

4. Persevere Through Trials

Faith is often tested through trials, but these challenges can strengthen our trust in God. James 1:3 reminds us, “Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” Embrace these moments as opportunities to grow deeper in your faith.

Life Application: When facing difficulties, remind yourself of God’s past faithfulness. Share your struggles with a trusted friend or mentor who can pray with you and offer support.

5. Stay Rooted in God’s Word

God’s Word is a source of life and guidance. Romans 10:17 tells us, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Regularly immersing ourselves in Scripture helps us to stay grounded in His promises.

Life Application: Set aside a specific time each day for reading and meditating on the Bible. This could be in the morning to start your day with God’s guidance or in the evening to reflect on His presence throughout your day.

6. Live Out Your Faith

Faith is not just a belief but an action. James 2:17 states, “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Let your faith be evident in your actions, serving others and living out God’s love.

Life Application: Look for opportunities to serve in your community or church. Acts of kindness and service are powerful ways to demonstrate your faith in action.

7. Trust in His Timing

God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our own. Trusting in His timing requires patience and faith. Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Life Application: When faced with delays or setbacks, remind yourself that God is in control. Use these moments to strengthen your faith and trust in His perfect plan.

8. Live in His Presence

Living in constant awareness of God’s presence transforms our perspective and empowers us to soar above our circumstances. Zephaniah 3:17 states, “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Life Application: Cultivate a habit of prayer and worship. Spend time in His presence daily, and let His peace and joy fill your heart.

9. Embrace His Peace

In the midst of life’s storms, God’s promises offer peace that surpasses all understanding. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Life Application: Practice gratitude daily. When worries arise, turn them into prayers and thank God for His faithfulness.

10. Walk in Obedience

Soaring in faith requires obedience to God’s commands. Deuteronomy 28:1 promises: “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.”

Life Application: Reflect on areas of your life where you can be more obedient to God’s Word. Make a commitment to follow His guidance, even when it’s challenging.
