"Soaring in the Waiting" by Pastor Lourdes Hernandez
Blessings Brave Hearted Steppers,
As we continue to get to know each other through this platform, you will soon see just how much I believe in the intentionality of God. Everything that he does, he allows, and that is currently present in your life is important and is there for a reason that God is currently developing and working out for you to see.
The last few weeks I have been truly enjoying a bible plan that talks about trusting God in the waiting.
The first part of Isaiah 40:31 talks about those who wait on the Lord shall. In other words, the soaring happens after the waiting. And waiting isn’t our best quality, even though we are all required to wait.
Waiting is something that is constantly used to teach us patience, perseverance, endurance, and the meaningful lessons that show us the plan and purpose of God in our lives. Being that we all need to wait, then waiting isn’t the true concern, but HOW we wait is.
At this moment, before you keep reading, I want you to take a moment to reflect on this question: what am I waiting for? After you answer that, I want you to ask yourself the next question: how am I waiting for it?
Both of these questions are essential to the process and the next step of soaring that awaits you.
First of all, those who wait is referring to people who are in a situation that requires a savior. You know, those situations where you feel like you are out in the middle of the ocean, you are tired of swimming, and you are ready to stop trying. In fact, at this point, you are just commending your soul to God and allowing him to do what he needs to do.
Or those of us who feel like we are in the desert. It is dry, it is arid, you are thirsty, and there is nothing and no one in sight. There isn’t even a tree around for shade to give you a breath of fresh air and push you a little further.
Waiting for the SAVIOR because you are in GREAT NEED of being RESCUED. This isn’t something that you are waiting for because you want it, but rather, you are waiting because what you are enduring is a matter of life and death.
That leads me to the next part – how are you waiting. Because the NEED for a SAVIOR creates an EXPECTATION inside of you. There is an anticipation – an ACTIVE FAITH that awakens within you because you BELIEVE that GOD is the ONLY ONE who can take you out of where you are, help you through it, and give you the VICTORY!
Joseph could’ve waited in the pit in sadness and despair, he could have done the same after he was bought, and then again when the wife of Potiphar lied on him, and he ended up in jail, and the list goes on and on and on (like our problems seem to go on and on). But instead, at every leg of the process, at every step of the way, Joseph waited with expectation.
The same God who didn’t allow him to stay in the pit, then placed him in Potiphar’s house, who then allowed the gossip to happen, and then went to jail, and in jail her served the pharaoh’s servants, and was then remembered at the RIGHT TIME, and God showed up for him and took him to the place where he was destined to be – the palace.
The word tells us that – at the RIGHT TIME – the LORD will do IT! So if you are still waiting, then the right time hasn’t come. But don’t wait with your arms crossed, feeling sorry for yourself, sleeping your life away, and allowing your soul to die.
Change HOW you are waiting, and begin to activate the expectation that if, God hasn’t done it today, then he can do it tomorrow, and if it doesn’t happen tomorrow, it will be the day after. At some point – that expectation will come to fruition, and you will be in the fulfillment of your purpose in God without even noticing it.
Brave Hearted Steppers – I won’t SOAR – you won’t SOAR – if you aren’t waiting in expectation and actively. Remember that – it is those who WAIT ON THE LORD who SOAR.
My prayer is that we shift how we wait and we actively seek his face at this moment, so that, in the expectation of the SAVIOR, HELP comes AT JUST THE RIGHT TIME. It isn’t time to feel helpless, it is time to be HOPEFUL because God hasn’t turned a deaf ear!
If you believe it – declare it – I WILL WAIT FOR YOU IN EXPECTATION OF MY RESCUE – I BELIEVE YOU WILL DO IT FOR ME!
Be encouraged,
Keep waiting,
Pastor Lourdes Hernandez
