MOVING FORWARD WITH BRAVE HEARTED COURAGE by Lissette Camacho
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers!
I'm not sure if you can relate to this month's scripture, but I can definitely say that the moment I read it, it truly resonated with me.
There are several pivotal words that significantly boosted my faith.
- Command-In a biblical context, the term "command" generally refers to an authoritative order or directive given by God or a figure of authority.
- Strong-The biblical concept of "strong" can refer to physical, spiritual, moral, or communal strength, often highlighting the importance of faith and reliance on God.
- Courageous-In a biblical context, the term "courageous" refers to having the strength and determination to face challenges, fear, or adversity with confidence and bravery, often in alignment with faith and reliance on God.
Similar to Joshua, God had commanded him to embark on a journey to the Promised Land.
I can only envision the fear, doubt, and insecurity he must feel. I can’t help but wonder what thoughts were swirling in his mind—those haunting "what ifs" that keep him up at night.
Yet, in His boundless love, wisdom, and grace, God reassured Joshua by saying, "The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Not only did He encourage him with those words but He kept reassuring him in verse 3 by saying every sole your foot will tread upon I have given you. Assuring him, that if he obeys God’s command-the blessing will follow.
“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses.” Joshua 1:3 ESV
God, continues to increase his faith in verse 5 by telling him—“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.
The Lord concludes by declaring, "I will never abandon you or leave you behind."
The NLT version explains it this way:
“No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.” Joshua 1:5 NLT
Over the past seven years, I've relocated to three different states, each move guided by God's hand.
Each step felt daunting and required tough choices, but I knew I had to move forward in faith and place my trust in God.
I want to share how grateful I am for trusting in Him. During my moments of uncertainty, God revealed His presence in every situation. It deepened my faith and strengthened my confidence in Him.
During my last move, I distinctly remember asking the Lord in prayer, "Is this move guided by You? Are You in agreement with my decision to relocate?"
In response, the Lord assured: I will be with you wherever you go. Those words brought me a sense of peace and encouraged me to move forward in faith.
Thus, it’s evident that this month’s word of encouragement is not simply a coincidence. God desires to bring reassurance to you through His Word—encouraging you to step forward in faith, to let go of your fears, and to place your trust in His guidance.
Understand this: when God calls you to take a step of faith, He will not only be by your side, but He will also support you. He will strengthen your courage.
God is faithful! Place your trust in His guidance and believe that He is always by your side. If I hadn't followed God's command, who knows where I might be or what my life would look like?
Today, through my faith and willingness to trust in the Lord, I have received blessings, favor, and grace. I have absolutely no regrets!
If you feel that God is urging you to step out in faith regarding something He has placed in your heart, I want to encourage you by saying…..be strong and of good courage for God will be with you through it all. In Jesus name. Amen
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 ESV
As He was with Joshua, He will also be with you. Remember that true courage comes when we rely solely on God and not our own strength.
God bless you,
