“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9 NLT
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers!
What an amazing reflection we have for this month!
If we don’t give up….that is the key factor as I meditated on this month’s verse.
How many times have we felt like God has left us? Especially, in the times when we believe we’re doing good and serving God and we wonder where is the reward? Where is God!?
We wonder, why hasn’t God stepped in and changed our situation? Why hasn’t He answered our prayers? How long do we need to endure before we see His promises?
One thing—I am learning in this season of my life is that in my weariness—God may seem like He’s not working because my situation hasn’t changed. But, it wasn’t until this past Sunday that God made me aware that not everything is not about me!
Those were hard words to soak in because as His daughter, I thought it was about me and what I want. God made me aware that I was walking in selfishness. That through me and my current life situation—He was touching the lives of others. That I am a witness to others who still do not believe.
That there are others who He’s revealing himself through me in order for Him to receive all the glory. He’s working in changing their heart.
The funny part is, that I’m also being changed. That even though the situation is uncomfortable—I’m being stretched, changed and transformed.
Growing pains hurt! We want things easy. We want things our way. We want things now! But the God we serve continuously puts us back on the Potter's wheel and molds us each day to look more and more like His image.
So, how do we take heart during hard times? We pray. We ask God to show us our heart and allow Him to remove anything that doesn’t align to His Word and then we trust Him for change.
A sample of what to ask God during prayer, would be the following:
-Ask Him; what is it that You need me to change?
-How can I get through this process you’re allowing me to be in with good cheer?
-How can this process help me bring Your name glory?
-How do I go through it without feeling offended?
Trials don’t last forever. They are painful and they can create doubt in the God we serve. However, be encouraged in knowing that He will see us through.
That God is working all things to work out for our good. That He is in control. That in due season we will reap the harvest of blessings if we don’t give up!
When we take our eyes off of the situation and put it God’s hand—He will reveal Himself and in due season—in your trust and obedience—if we faint not, we will reap the harvest.
I am currently reaping that harvest. Since I finally understood that what I was enduring wasn’t about me but about Jesus—I am now witnessing the Lord changing the heart of the person He has assigned to me in this season.
Someone, who didn’t know God is now believing in God and attending Church with me. Worshipping and praying. That’s what God does!
And at the end of the day….it’s bringing glory to the Father and that is more than enough for me.
Keep believing—God is working everything out in your favor.
“We know that God helps those people who love him. He uses everything that happens to them to bring something good. He does this for the people that he has chosen to serve him.” Romans 8:28 EASY
