BRAVE BOLDNESS: Bold steps toward God's promises by Rev. Maria Guzman

Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,

I pray that this month's kickoff of the BRAVE series is a blessing to your lives, as it always is for mine.

In my previous blog post under this series, I shared BRAVE Boldness: Dare to Trust God's Call. In this blog post, I'm sharing Brave Boldness: Bold steps toward God's promises.

When God places a promise in your heart, it often requires a step of boldness to see it come to pass. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us:

"For I know the plans I have for you." declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

This Bible verse is more than a comforting thought; it is a call to action. God's plans for you are good (can I get an Amen for that?), but they are also purposeful. They invite you to trust Him enough to take bold steps forward, even when the path is unfamiliar.

Boldness is not Recklessness

Walking in boldness doesn't mean charging ahead without wisdom. Boldness is courage (Brave Hearted courage) that is wrapped in faith (Brave Hearted faith), it is saying "yes" to God even when fear tries to keep you still.

  • Boldness is trusting God's timing when everything feels delayed.
  • Boldness is choosing forgiveness when holding a grudge feels easier.
  • Boldness is investing your time, resources, and talents.
  • Boldness is setting healthy boundaries to honor God with your time and energy.
God honors Bold Steps

Throughout the Bible, God honors those who dare to trust Him. Think of Joshua leading the Israelites across the Jordan, Esther risking her life to save her people, and Peter stepping out of the boat to walk on water (and many other examples not mentioned). Each story begins with a moment where someone dared to take a step of Brave Hearted faith toward God's promise.

Your life is no different. There are promises waiting for you on the other side of your obedience.

Practical Ways to Step Boldly
  1. Pray First: Ask God for clarity and Brave Hearted courage before moving forward.
  2. Take Small Steps: Boldness isn't always loud. Start small acts of obedience and let your Brave Hearted faith grow.
  3. Stay Rooted in the Word: Let God's promises fuel your Brave Hearted courage. Read and meditate on Bible verses that remind you of His faithfulness.
  4. Surround Yourself with Encouragers: Walk with people who speak life and faith into you.
Your Next Step

What is one bold step God is asking you to take today? It could be reaching out to encourage someone, sharing your testimony, offering your time, talent, or resources to serve others, committing to daily prayer, and reading the Word more consistently, or simply saying "yes" where you've been saying "not yet."

Brave Hearted Steppers, your future is bright because the One who holds it is faithful. As Pastora Yolanda Hernandez said last week, "Dare to believe as you are Destined for More", I encourage you again to "Dare to trust" and "Dare to step boldly." The promises of God are worth it!

Prayer

Father God, thank you for your promises that give us hope and a future. We ask you today for Brave Hearted courage to take the next step of Brave Hearted faith You are calling us to take. Help us to trust Your timing, obey Your voice, and walk boldly into the plans You have for us. Strengthen us when we feel afraid and remind us that You are with us every Brave Hearted step of the way. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Many Blessings, until next time!
