BRAVE VISION: Choosing Obedience Over Comfort by Rev. Maria Guzman
Dear Brave Hearted Steppers,
There are moments in life when God’s direction doesn’t challenge our faith—it challenges our comfort. This is often the case when He leads us through a job transition.
Recently, I found myself at one of those crossroads. A new job opportunity came before me—not out of pressure, but through a season of prayer, discernment, and reflection. The decision required me to trust God beyond what felt familiar and to move forward even when every detail was not fully settled.
Comfort Is Not the Same as Alignment
A job can be comfortable—predictable, familiar, and stable. But comfort does not always mean alignment. Sometimes God allows us to grow comfortable so we can recognize when it’s time to move.
As I prayed through this decision, it became clear that what once fit my season no longer aligned with where God was leading me personally and professionally. That realization required honesty, humility, and Brave Hearted courage.
BRAVE VISION helps us recognize when a season has served its purpose and it’s time for a new one to begin.
Peace Became My Confirmation
I did not receive a dramatic sign or a perfectly detailed plan. Instead, I experienced peace.
Peace is often God’s way of confirming direction when clarity is still unfolding. It doesn’t remove every question, but it anchors your heart while you move forward.
Even in uncertainty, there was a sense of assurance that this job transition was being guided by God.
Faith Moves Before Full Understanding
Walking by sight would have meant waiting until everything felt guaranteed. Walking by faith meant trusting that God was already at work behind the scenes.
Every step taken in faith strengthens confidence in God’s provision. You don’t need every answer before you move—you only need to trust the One who already sees ahead.
Obedience builds momentum.
Trust opens the door for provision.
Trusting God With Timing and Transition
Job transitions often come with emotional weight—questions, concerns, and the pressure of responsibility. But God is intentional with timing. He does not rush us, and He does not abandon us in change.
This season reminded me that God is present not only in ministry moments but in practical decisions as well. He cares about where we work, how we grow, and the environments we step into.
Encouragement for the Brave Hearted Stepper
If you’re weighing options with prayer and wisdom…
If you’re stepping forward while still trusting God with the details…
Be encouraged. God honors thoughtful obedience and faithful trust.
He provides what we need.
He remains faithful in every transition.
Continuing to Walk With Vision
As I step into this new job season, I do so with gratitude and trust—not because everything is perfect, but because God is faithful. BRAVE VISION reminds us that surrendered transitions are never ordinary-they are divinely ordered.
Let us continue to walk by faith, not by sight—together.
