Brave Positioning: Positioned in the Valley by Rev. Maria Guzman
Hello Brave Hearted Steppers,
There are moments when God positions us in places we would never choose on our own.
Ezekiel did not place himself in the valley. Scripture says, “The LORD took hold of me, and I was carried away to a valley…” (Ezekiel 37:1).
Not fresh bones.
Not slightly damaged bones.
Dry bones.
Completely empty.
Completely beyond human repair.
Yet it was there — in the middle of what appeared hopeless — that God began to reveal His power.
Sometimes, Brave Positioning means standing in places that look barren while trusting God is still working.
Sometimes God positions us in situations where we cannot rely on our own strength, wisdom, or solutions, so we will fully depend on Him.
Before the bones lived, Ezekiel had to listen. God asked him a question: “Son of man, can these bones live?” (Ezekiel 37:3)
What a question to ask in a valley of death. But Ezekiel answered wisely: “...,you alone know the answer to that.” (Ezekiel 37: 3)
Brave Positioning is not pretending to have all the answers. It is remaining surrendered before the One who does.
Then God instructed Ezekiel to speak.
Not because there was visible evidence.
But because God’s Word carries life.
“So I prophesied as I had been commanded…” (Ezekiel 37:7).
That is Brave Hearted faith in action.
Ezekiel was positioned not only to observe the valley, but to obey in it.
And as he obeyed, the impossible began to happen:
Breath entered them.
Life was restored.
The valley that once represented hopelessness became a testimony of resurrection power.
We want a breakthrough without obedience.
Renewal without surrender.
Movement without waiting on God.
But throughout Scripture, God often positions people before He pours out His power for His glory.
Ezekiel was positioned in the valley before restoration came.
The disciples were positioned in the upper room before the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came.
Sometimes we are positioned in uncomfortable places because God is preparing us to witness what only He can do.
This passage also reminds us that restoration is never merely external. God said, “I will put My Spirit in you and you will live.” (Ezekiel 37:14).
They needed breath.
In the same way, we do not only need plans, strategies, or appearances of strength.
We need the Spirit of God breathing life into weary places within us.
Perhaps you feel like you are standing in a valley right now.
Delayed.
Silent.
Broken.
Uncertain.
Do not mistake the valley for abandonment.
God still speaks in valleys.
God still restores in valleys.
And sometimes the very place that looks lifeless becomes the place where God positions you to witness His faithfulness most clearly.
Brave Positioning is trusting that even in dry places, God is still able to bring life.
Stay surrendered.
Stay obedient.
The breath of God still changes everything.
